Infinity's Kappa Box uses Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm material is a major breakthrough in transducer-diaphragm technology. For subwoofer applications, it offers pistonic operation over the entire usable range of the driver, eliminating colorations due to cone breakup modes and, thus, dramatically reducing distortion. And, the diaphragm will not deteriorate when exposed to moisture, sunlight or extreme temperatures, making ceramic metal matrix an ideal material for automotive applications. Infinity's top-ranked Prelude MTS was the first product to use this breakthrough driver technology, which is now the hallmark of the brand's home-audio lineup.

Flat Progressive Spider – A flat progressive spider is used on all Kappa subwoofers including Kappa Box to provide maximum control at excursion limits.

Flared and Polished Polepiece Vents – In addition to providing maximum voice-coil cooling, the flared and polished polepiece vent eliminates mechanical noises created by excessive turbulence at the mouth of the vent. The large vent diameter reduces suspension losses for better low-frequency reproduction.

Butyl-Rubber Surrounds – Offer excellent cone-edge suspension, important to any high-excursion subwoofer. In addition, this material will not break down due to moisture or UV exposure.

Long Excursion Design – The motor structure and overall design of each Kappa woofer has been engineered to ensure maximum excursion in small sealed, vented and bandpass enclosures. Both the ten-inch and twelve-inch models deliver 12.5mm of linear one-way excursion.
