rating: review by: Danny | the apline 9882ri is a brill head unit, the radio reception is outstanding, also the iluminations of the unit are very good showing off the apline look. 1 bad point of the unit is the volume control button is very light everytime u go to turn the volume up u press it and it goes to sub bass control. overall very happy with it defo be dealing with car audio center again | |

rating:  review by: Anonymous | I have been a fan of alpine radios for years - I've been using this head unit for a few months and overall I'm satisfied, but it does have some annoying features. The most common problem is every single time I go to adjust the volume I accidentally (very lightly) nudge the dial which then adjusts the bass, leaving me to wait a few seconds before trying again to turn the volume up/ down. When successful the volume is adjusted in incremental steps, and all too often is just a bit too loud or a bit too quiet. I find it hard to navigate the ipod, again mainly due to the light touch of the control dial, but also due to the incredibly small and fiddly buttons. I find the illumination is way too bright at night, even when dimmed. That said the sound is fine, and the radio reception is outstanding, but in all honesty I'd buy something different next time. Sorry alpine. | |
