rating:  review by: Barry W | Initially I was unsure wether or not such a small and good value sub would be any good. I was starting a stealth install in my Porsche 911 (993) convertible and was limited by space. After lots of umming and aahing I took the plunge and purchased 2 of these little beauties. They are installed in 2 very small sealed and packed boxes which are in a 45 degree angle in the rear footwell. I installed one and tested the sound quality and I was blown away - upon installation of the second and ramping up some of my favourite hip hop and New Yorican vibe tunes I was just amazed by the quality of reproduction these little units can create. I used to run a 10" Kenwood sub in a aero port tuned box and these little fellas are easily as lound and punchy, can take all that I throw at them and at the same time are as tight as a gnats proverbial. I have done some BIG installs in my time but I reckon this is the best £80 I ever spent - seriously impressed. The wire fixtures are quality, the rubber gasket (allthough fiddly to fit) is REALLY NEAT and tidy and looks superb without a grille. The instructions come with loads of tuned and bandpass box dimensions and options. I can not imagine what 2 of these gems sound like in a band pass........WOOF! Big magnets - big noise - big impression. You can NOT go wrong at £40 a pop. I DO NOT WORK FOR ALPINE but Alpine certainly work for me. | |
