Line Out & Signal Converters

What is a Line Output Converter?

A line output converter, or LOC for short, converts a speaker-level output signal into an RCA preamp-level signal. This lets you connect the radio to an amplifier. Line output converters can also be used to connect a new radio to a car's factory amp.

Do I need a Line Output Converter?

If you want to connect an aftermarket amplifier or an active subwoofer, to your factory radio, you will need to convert the high-level signal to a low level, whichrequires a line output converter. Some car amps and active subs have high level input but we have found using an adjustable LOC doesn't degrade the signal.

What is the difference between a Line Output Converter and a 4 Channel Car Amp?

A 4 channel car amplifier is a device that amplifies the signal from your car's audio system so that it is louder and more audible whilst a line output converter is a device that converts a digital audio signal into an analogue audio signal, which can then be sent to an amplifier or a set of speakers.
